What is CatBase?
CatBase is a database publishing program which automates the process of publishing a catalogue, directory, price list, membership directory, or any other sort of publication that's based on database data.

How does it work?
- Get your data into Catbase's database. It can be imported from virtually any other data source or entered manually.
- Set up one or more Publishing Styles. These tell CatBase what you want to publish and how you want it formatted.
- Select the data you want to publish, choose the Publishing Style to use, and transfer the data to your chosen publishing destination.
- Everything is automatically formatted

- Round-Tripping: Once your data has been published to QuarkXPress or InDesign CS2 or 3, data can be updated in the document or from the document back to the database

- Automation: Create Sets of data that meet certain criteria; set up Publishing Projects so you don't have to remember the settings each time you publish; use the Event Scheduler to perform tasks such as importing or publishing data according to a flexible schedule
- Communications: Send and receive emails; print letters and labels
- Automatic Backups: The Backup Scheduler makes backups at specified intervals and maintains a log file of all changes made to the database; in the event of a system crash, it can automatically restore the database if necessary
